Who is Redbud Advisors and Redbud Development?

Redbud Advisors is a fractional family office dedicated to helping dynamic families and investors simplify complexity, preserve wealth, and regain time and peace of mind. We implement financial strategies that integrate tax, estate, investments, cash management, philanthropy, and other considerations.

Redbud Development Group is a real estate developer focusing on in-fill residential real estate development within a 15-minute radius from downtown Austin. We currently have approximately 100 residential units in the entitlement or development process.

What is the Position?

As an Accountant, you will organize financial data into clear, insightful reports that empower our businesses to make strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

1. Internal Accounting & Financial Reporting (for both businesses):

• Maintain all accounting books, perform month-end and year-end closing processes, and conduct regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Monitor cash flow to ensure the company meets financial obligations and manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including billing and collections. 
• Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, forecasts and projections, and other custom reports.

2. Support Client Reporting (for Redbud Advisors):

• Gather, organize, and verify information related to clients’ investment holdings, including transactions, valuations, performance metrics, and other details.
• Monitor data for both public markets holdings and private investment holdings, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real estate, and other types of investments.
• Communicate with investment managers to collect information and to ensure online and email access remain operational.

3. Internal Collaboration (for both businesses):

• Work closely with teammates including principals and reporting associates to collect, update, and verify relevant data and to design and build reports.
• Provide support and insights during internal and client meetings, presentations, and strategy sessions.

4. Process Improvement (for both businesses):

• Lead initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting and financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to provide feedback, improve firm processes, and incorporate AI tools.

5. Perform any additional tasks or duties as needed or as they arise.

Tools

• Both businesses use QuickBooks Online.
• We also use Addepar, Airtable, Google Sheets, and Notion, among other tools.
