Supervise a team of tax preparation professionals. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for reviewing, preparing and filing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax laws and regulations as well as quality control. You will also provide consultations to clients and ensure data accuracy and compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and mentor a team of tax preparation professionals, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment while providing guidance on best practices and ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize client tax positions while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Review and approve tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to filing deadlines.
Ensure tax services employees are properly and accurately billing for time, reviews non-billable, billable and utilization reports.
Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to clients, including strategic recommendations to minimize tax liabilities and enhance financial performance.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate implications to clients and team members effectively.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and accounting principles.
Stay updated on industry trends and developments in tax preparation practices and software applications.
Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to clients and senior management.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, understanding client needs, and providing responsive support.
Manage client inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and efficiency. Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
Perform other accounting tasks as needed, such as bookkeeping and financial statement preparation as requested and supervised by the Director of Tax.

Education, Experience, Certificates and Licenses:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Extensive experience (5+ years) in tax services with a focus on tax planning, compliance, and advisory for diverse clients.
Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience.
Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing team.
Computer Skills:
Proficiency in tax preparation software, bookkeeping software and financial management systems.
Basic knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheet software.
