WHAT YOU'LL DO
The primary responsibility of this position includes, but is not limited to product standard costing, variance analyses, department overhead budgeting and monthly close reporting for the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Activities include financial analysis, account reconciliations, monthly headcount reporting and oversight of the inventory process.
Primary Job Functions:
Support the development of accurate standard costs for manufactured assemblies and purchased components.
Investigate variances by reviewing of bills of materials, routings and component material costs for reasonableness
Support the monthly close process, quarterly forecasting and yearly audit activities for the site
Prepare monthly management reports related to inventory, labor and overhead spend of approximately $100MM annually
Performs monthly review of capital asset accounts including construction in progress, asset capitalization & retirement and supports the annual fixed asset audit.
Report and monitor business unit inventory of $200MM monthly and assist with inventory verification activities such as cycle counts and audits
Monthly review of account reconciliations prepared by the Shared Service Center. This may include inventory, accounts payable, construction in progress, and accrued liabilities
Assist management on additional ad hoc analysis or reporting as needed and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration ; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
5+ years of accounting or finance, progressively responsible experience in cost analysis/reporting in manufacturing organization
3 years of medical device industry and cost/finance systems preferred
Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and manufacturing issues
Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment with a large amount of parts
Familiarity with ERP software (preferably SAP & Oracle) and intermediate Excel abilities including v-look ups and pivot tables
Highly effective written and verbal communication and influencing skills as position interfaces with various levels across the organization
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
CMA or CPA is desirable but not required
Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.
