The Director of Payroll Services reports to the Assistant Vice President and provides professional support to the University related to all payroll processes. The Director supervises a team of payroll professionals responsible for employee data management and integrity, payroll accounting distribution, payroll related balance sheet reconciliations, and payroll reporting. The position is responsible for maintaining a team culture of service and excellence by fostering an environment of accountability, open communication, well planned projects, and effectively executed processes. The Director oversees the accurate and timely completion of all payroll processes, reports, process improvements, policy/procedure development and implementation, as well as audit support.
Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with at least 5 years of related accounting and/or payroll experience or Master's degree in a business-related field with at least 3 years of related accounting and/or payroll experience. This would include at least one year of experience at an institution of higher education. Must also have experience with ERP systems, at least 3 years of supervisory experience and intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Preferred qualifications include; Master's degree in a business-related field, CPA license, CPP designation and FPC designation.
