Trinity Industries is hiring a Sr Manager, Operations in Dallas, Texas!
This role will be responsible for leading Fleet Operations for Trinity Industries and our customers. The manager will own all processes associated with coordinating railcar shopping events. The processes include providing scope of work, estimate and invoice reviews, and customer updates.

What you’ll do:
Own execution and strategy for completing repairs from arrival to completion at shop
Lead all aspects of the implementation and adoption of the TAS modernization strategy that will overhaul Services Operations Operating System (TAS)
Be accountable for achieving operating plan targets, being responsible for cost per car, and taking ownership for customer expense items as if it was TRN’s capital
Build a robust team that will strive to achieve targeted operating plan goals for fleet maintenance expense
Deliver a premier customer experience by reducing out of service time from arrival to completion at shop
Drive customer satisfaction by hitting scorecard metrics
Work cross-functionally with key business partners
Develop a deep understanding of the end to end fleet maintenance process and ability to implement standard work
Implement standard work and SLAs to drive accountability
Demonstrate financial understanding of the maintenance budget (GL coding, expense classification and cost drivers)
Absorb technical knowledge and apply it to railcar repairs
What you’ll need:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Finance or related field; MBA/CPA highly preferred
Minimum of 5 years leading direct teams with proven operational leadership experience
Profit and Loss ownership and experience reducing costs
Prior experience leading and coordinating effective fleet maintenance, inspection and administration systems/ programs is a plus
Strong process, analytic and problem solving skills
Consistent record of leading groundbreaking change
Excellent communication & presentation skills with the ability to engage at all levels – from front line to executive
Six Sigma / continuous improvement experience
Technology savvy including familiar with CRM systems (Salesforce) SaaS and big data
Ability to strategically plan and set clear priorities
Solid track record of improving processes, solving complex problems and monitoring process for accuracy and effectiveness
Ability to empower direct reports
Strong business acumen required
Outstanding interpersonal skills
