Successful, forward thinking Law Firm is seeking a Controller to lead the organization’s finance and accounting groups. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of experience, is a licensed CPA and professional services or experience in a client driven organization. This position will oversee a team of direct reports. Experience with 401k, federal and state taxed and audit is preferred. With over 100 employees, the company is looking for an individual who is interested in a growing organization with experience in start-ups. Compensation is based on experience.
The Controller will be responsible for:
Working knowledge of finance law and regulatory standards (GAAP)
Strong understanding of economic and banking processes
Knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
Proven experience in financial project management
Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel
Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand
Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting
Auditing, accounting, and corporate finance
Development of budgets and tracking budget expenses
Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting
Bachelors Degree, preferably in business administration, Finance, or Accounting
10+ years financial management experience
Expert in Excel
5+ years of experience as a lead finance/accounting person in an organization (required)
TX CPA License
5 to 10 years of experience as a Controller
Experience handling audits and role/function/cost analysis
