Salary Pay: $85,057.10 - $99,393.13, DOE

As the Accounting Manager, this position plans, organizes, coordinates, directs, and controls the financial and accounting functions, practices, and procedures of the Cooperative to ensure a sound financial position and achievement of long- and short-term goals. Provides complete and accurate financial and other records to safeguard the Cooperative's assets, securities, and funds. Provides the CEO and Management Staff with complete and accurate financial reports, operating costs, and statistics that will allow them to properly predict trends, determine planning needs, interpret results, and make effective decisions. Provide overall leadership to the purchasing functions. Ensures an effective and efficient recording of events at the Cooperative by providing for the proper accounting of labor, transportation, payroll, and other expenses to ensure proper disbursement of NEC funds
Essential Job Functions
Manage the company's general ledger, capital credits, payroll, accounts payable and construction accounting.
Ensures offsite Retail Subsidiary Ledger reconciles to the NISC General Ledger
Follow proper accounting procedures to reach financial objective; monitor and analyze financial accounting data; create financial reports based on data analysis
Authority of withdrawal of funds, cash flow, banking relationships, investments and other related assets and expenses
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or related disciplinary field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
Five to Seven years of experience in general ledger experience; and/or utility accounting including budgeting concepts, activity-based costing in an Electric Utility
Two years of experience in a leadership or managerial position
Interpersonal and verbal communication skills, sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards and regulations, experience in working with accounting software and databases, superior data management data analysis skills, detail-oriented with a passion for accuracy
Advanced computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Ability to use/learn computerized customer information systems at an advanced level
Must be skilled in training, motivating, and evaluating assigned personnel to obtain the highest degree of productivity and development of individual capabilities
Ability to speak effectively before staff members or employees of the organization
Ability to organize work and meet deadlines
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with five to seven years of experience in accounting with managerial experience.
Seven years' experience in electric utility with leadership/managerial experience or in a related discipline/function
Must have a robust working knowledge of Excel
Must be able to provide quick and accurate results with the ability to multi-task
Experience with general ledgers, financial reports, budgetary reports, and financial forecasting
In depth knowledge of computer, communications and electronics systems and applications
Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
