Given the company's aggressive "buy and build" strategy, the Controller will be a critical financial leader and trusted resource to the CEO, executive leadership team, and investors. The Controller will be responsible for the company's accounting operations and provide adequate and timely financial information to make effective decisions to support sustainable growth.
The Controller and his/her team will handle the production and accuracy of monthly and annual financial results in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. This includes maintaining an appropriate accounting records system and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk.
The Controller is responsible for proper cash management, general ledger reconciliations, year-end audit preparation, financial reporting, payroll, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Controller will interact with investor and executive leadership teams and auditors. The Corporate Controller will lead a small team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Bachelor of Arts or Science in accounting and CPA certification are required.
· Minimum of 7 or more years of progressive Controller experience in a mid-size or larger services organization. Plus, previous public accounting experience is beneficial.
· Proficient knowledge of percentage of completion accounting methods and ASC 606 revenue recognition standards, as well as experience in a Controllership position within a multi-site/multi-state organization with revenues greater than $250M is required.
· Demonstrated experience scaling a company's financial operations in a high-growth business environment. Private equity-backed organization experience is preferred.
· Proven experience of growing a finance function, both organically and through the integration of acquired businesses.
